Hello. How does a trillion cut gemstone get set in this type of setting?

Is this a pressure setting or can the prongs be manipulated. If I purchase a 6mm setting, what size stone would I need? I'm a relatively new metalsmith. Thank you.

you would have to create notches in the mounting and then set the gem into the notches, bend the prongs over the gem and tighten. I would suggest having a jeweler do it as the stone can easily break if not done correctly
